Village staff has received an update from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) that lane closures of IL 176 (at the Des Plaines River Bridge) will begin Monday, November 3 and are expected to continue through the last week of November. The Village has been informed that these closures will reduce IL 176 to one lane of traffic in this location, regulated by temporary traffic signals which have already been installed.
Long delays are expected during the closure, and it is strongly recommended that alternate routes be used whenever possible. As always, for those who do use this road, please use caution when driving through the work area.
The lane reduction and temporary traffic signals are necessary for IDOT’s contractor to complete required repair work to the bridge.
