Good Afternoon,
This is Mayor Terry Weppler with an update on what is happening in the Village. Non-essential Village buildings continue to be closed to the public. Administrative services continue to be offered in a limited capacity by phone and e-mail and public safety services are operating as usual as well as garbage pick-up. Many local restaurants also remain open for online ordering or carryout. Look for the orange signs in the window or go to www.libertyvilledining.com to find out which restaurants are currently open. By order of the governor, all non-essential businesses are closed. I encourage all residents to support our non-essential local business as much as possible through website purchases.
The Governor has issued a Stay at Home order beginning Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and ending on April 7th. During this time residents are being asked to stay in their homes to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Residents will still be able to go to the grocery store, hardware store, pharmacy, bank, get gas for their vehicles and take walks outside but should not be congregating in groups. Parents please keep your children at home. All essential workers will be permitted to work under the governor’s order. To learn more about the order click here.
I urge you to follow the Governor’s order to help slow the spread of this virus. Please stay calm, we will get through this. If you have any questions I can answer or suggestions that can help our residents please feel free to email me at tweppler@libertyville.com. Thank you.
Terry L. Weppler
Village President
