Wind/Storm Damage Debris Clean-up

A significant windstorm traveled through portions of the Village last night. There is damage to trees in certain areas of town. Due to the volume of damage, the Village will have neighboring communities assist with pick-up beginning this Monday.

Please have your tree related storm damage at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday, July 13th when the collection will start. Only storm damage will be collected, not maintenance trimming etc. If you think a parkway tree is damaged (typically located near the roadway or between the sidewalk and roadway) please call us so we can review the damage. Parkway trees are the Village’s responsibility.

If you have damage to a fence, vehicle or structure you may need to call your insurance company to coordinate a claim. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

Rockland Road Construction Update

The Rockland Road reconstruction project has made great progress over the course of the past month.  The entire south half of the roadway was prepared in anticipation for the placement of asphalt in early July.  This included the installation of all concrete sidewalks and curb, preparation of the aggregate base course, as well as rough grading of some parkways.  The paving subcontractor (Peter Baker & Son) will be installing the first lift of asphalt binder course in the next few days. The project continues to progress well ahead of schedule and is anticipated to easily be finished by the contract completion date this fall.
