Stormwater Utility Fee Town Hall Meetings

The Village of Libertyville is considering implementing a stormwater utility fee to finance the capital improvements identified in the Master Stormwater Management Plan. Residents and business can learn more about the proposed fee by visiting the Village’s stormwater utility fee web page here. This web page includes fee background, a list of frequently asked questions, and a tool that allows customers to lookup their property’s estimated stormwater utility fee amount. If adopted by the Village Board, the fee would go into effect on September 1, 2021.

The Village will be hosting two virtual town hall sessions in the coming weeks to review the proposed fee and stormwater capital improvement plan. The dates of the virtual town halls are:

               -Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 7:00pm
               -Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 7:00pm

The virtual meeting links are available at the link above and will also be shared on social media. In order to facilitate the virtual meeting participants are encouraged to submit questions or provide feedback in advance of the meeting by emailing stormwaterhelp@libertyville.com. Comments and questions will be read aloud during the meeting. Each town hall session will be recorded and uploaded for later viewing on the Village’s website.

Comprehensive Plan Meeting

On Tuesday, January 19 a Committee of the Whole meeting will be held with the Village Board to hear a presentation on the draft Comprehensive Plan. The proposed Libertyville 2030 Comprehensive Plan is a guiding document that describes a vision and blueprint for Libertyville's future physical, economic and social development over the next ten years.

The Comprehensive Plan's vision is the result of considerable analysis and study of the community's existing conditions - its downtown business district, neighborhoods, economic climate, commercial corridors, industrial areas, open space, streets and infrastructure, and urban design and visual appearances - as well as extensive collaboration, participation and input from Libertyville residents and stakeholders in the planning process. The meeting will be held virtually at 7:00 p.m. To view the agenda and virtual meeting link click here.
