Village Honors Local Veterans for Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, Mayor Donna Johnson and the Village Board of Trustees invited Libertyville veterans to the Village Board meeting on November 9th for recognition. Mayor Johnson issued a proclamation for long-time Libertyville resident and veteran Don Carter, 96, in honor of his service in the United States Army.

Village Board Meeting Veterans

A 47-year resident of Libertyville, Carter serves as the Chairman of the Memorial Day Committee and Master of Ceremonies at the Memorial Day events. He is an active member of numerous organizations including the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The Village celebrated the dedication of veterans like Don and Village staff members and thanks them for their service and sacrifice.

Back by popular demand! Santa will return to the Village with a modified parade route. Follow Santa through the Village on December 4th beginning at 3:30 p.m. and use the special Santa Tracker to watch his journey! Directions, route map, and tracker information are available here.

Libertyville Foundation Giving Initiative

Since December 2005, the Libertyville Foundation has donated funds for life-saving equipment in the fire and police departments, Village beautification, memorial trees and benches, and undesignated gifts. The Village encourages you to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the Foundation as part of your holiday giving. For more information, contact the Finance Department at (847) 362-2430.

Join MainStreet Libertyville in celebrating its first-ever hardback coffee table book, Lasting Impressions: Historic Homes of Libertyville on Sunday, November 21st, 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Libertyville Civic Center. Meet the authors and photographer and enjoy light appetizers, drinks, and dessert. The event is free to attend. Books are available for purchase here.

Police Department CRAM the Cruiser Raises $1468

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of Libertyville patrons, the Police Department was able to donate several squad cars of food and $1468 to the St. Joseph's and First Presbyterian's food pantries!

Santa's Mailbox

Libertyville Recreation Letters to Santa

Santa's mailbox is back and ready to receive letters! Between November 24th and December 17th, drop off letters at the mailbox outside of Village Hall (118 W. Cook Ave.) or the Riverside Clubhouse (870 Country Club Dr.). Make sure to include a return address so Santa can respond! No postage required - Santa's elves will take care of the rest!

MainStreet Libertyville's Dickens of a Holiday Returns

Celebrate the holiday season with MainStreet Libertyville! The annual Dickens of a Holiday returns December 4th and 11th. Join us for photos with Santa and Mrs. Clause, the Children's Holiday Shoppe, and the Victorian Tea. MainStreet will also be collecting donations of canned and dry goods for local food pantries. For details, click here.
