Each May, the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum observes National Police Week to recognize law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. We would like to say thank you to our Libertyville Police Department team for their service to the community and dedication to public safety. The Village of Libertyville is grateful for you!

Public Works Week 2022

Public Works Week with the VOL Team

In honor of the 2022 National Public Works Week, "Ready and Resilient," the Village would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to our dedicated, tireless Public Works team. The Public Works staff provide the Village with clean drinking water, clear roadways, and safe plumbing and buildings - just to name a few! Thank a Public Works employee today!

Downtown Sidewalk Powerwashing

Powerwashing of downtown sidewalks will occur from May 23rd through May 25th between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am. The process involves extremely hot water at high . (~200°F) pressure to remove gum, grease, and grime. Because of this, the work must take place when pedestrians and vehicles are absent. A map of the route is located here.

The Village works proactively with its contractor to maintain minimal disruptions during this time. For questions, contact 847-362-3434 between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

UPDATED: North Shore Gas Controlled Gas Release

North Shore Gas will vent natural gas from a natural gas main on June 2nd. The release was originally scheduled for the week of May 16th. The release will take place near the intersection of 176 (Park Avenue) and Woodland Road between 7:00 am and 9:00 am. Work crews will be on site from May 18th through May 27th.

Senior Center Cubs Baseball Trip

Senior Center Chicago Cubs Game Outing

Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack! Join the Libertyville Senior Center on Wednesday, July 6th for a Chicago Cubs game. Tickets are $60 and include a tailgate party, game ticket, and transportation. Bus leaves at 9:30 pm and will return after 5 pm.

CMAP Urban Planning Summer Program for High School Students

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning is currently accepting applications for its Future Leaders in Planning (FLIP) summer program. High school students in northeastern Illinois are invited to this free leadership development program to explore the field of urban planning, including housing, transportation, public policy, sustainability, and government.

U of I Extension Plant Sale

From 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on May 21st, the Lake County Extension Master Gardener Plant Sale features a selection of nursery-grown plant varieties not readily available at traditional garden centers. The "Garden Treasures" shop will also be open for new and gently used items and Master Gardeners will be on site to answer questions.

Ride Lake County Paratransit Service

Lake County's new borderless paratransit service provides seniors aged 60+ and those with disabilities transportation to any area of the county for work, errands, or medical appointments. Trips may be scheduled any day of the week between 6 am and 6 pm.

Riders must first register with Pace before scheduling a trip. To register or schedule a trip, contact the Pace Call Center at 1-800-201-6446. More information, including details about the Reduced Fair Permit, is available here.
