Celebrate America's Birthday with the Village of Libertyville

Celebrate Independence Day with the Village of Libertyville! Enjoy a special holiday concert by the Village Band at 7:30 pm at Butler Lake Park. The 2022 fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:30 pm, sponsored by the Libertyville Mile of Cars and the Village of Libertyville.

Village administrative offices will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday, July 4th. Offices will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, July 5th.

Knights of Columbus Dog Days of Summer

The 13th Annual Dog Days of Summer will take place July 8th through 10th. Dock Dogs Canine Aquatic Competition will return for all dogs, amateur to pro! Local rescues will also be on-site with some of their furry residents looking for a new home.

This event is sponsored by the Village of Libertyville and the Knights of Columbus Council 3674 Libertyville. All proceeds go to local pet rescues and food pantries. For details, click here.

Take your lunch outside with MainStreet Libertyville's Lunch in the Park! Bring a blanket or lawn chair to downtown Libertyville's Cook Park each Friday. From 11 am to 2 pm, food vendors will be on-site offering everything from burgers to dumplings to ice cream!

Whether you're meeting friends or doing "grab and go" on your lunch hour, relax and enjoy entertainment from local bands while you savor local eats! For details and a list of performers, click here.

Register for the Senior Center's Lake Geneva Trip

Join the Libertyville Senior Center on Tuesday, August 16th for a special summer trip to Lake Geneva! Take a boat tour of the lake, enjoy lunch from the famous Popeye's on the Lake, and peruse Black Pointe Estate. Bus leaves from the Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church St., at 9:15 am and returns around 4:15 pm. $75 covers transportation and activities.

GLMV Chamber's Annual Golf Outing Returns

Calling all golfers! Tee off with the GLMV Chamber at their Annual Golf Outing from 8 am to 4 pm on Friday, July 15th at White Deer Run Gold Course. Start the day with breakfast before 18 holes of golf followed by lunch and a cocktail reception. Be sure to register for sponsored raffles and the helicopter ball drop!

Support the Festival of the Arts as a Volunteer!

The Adler Arts Center and the GLMV Chamber of Commerce are looking for volunteers for the annual Festival of the Arts! Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:

  • Friday, August 5th: Setup
  • Saturday, August 6th - Beer garden and tickets/wristbands
  • Sunday, August 7th - Beer garden and tickets/wristbands
  • Monday, August 8th - Teardown
If you're fun, enthusiastic, and passionate about supporting the arts, send your availability to Scott Adams, GLMV President, at sadams@glmvchamber.org. No experience necessary!

SWALCO Household Chemical Waste Event

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, IL (SWALCO) is hosting a Household Chemical Waste disposal event on Saturday, July 9th. HCW includes oil-based paints/varnishes, cleaning products, garden chemicals, and medications. Appointments are required; event is at the Gurnee facility at 1311 N. Estes Street.

Join Representative Chris Bos and Senator Dan McConchie for a community recycling event! Participants may enter St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on S. Bueshing Road. Stay in your car and someone will take your items before you exit on Main Street (Rt. 22).
