Mayor's Statement on Hispanic Heritage Month

At the September 13th Village Board meeting, Mayor Johnson issued an official proclamation recognizing September 15th through October 15th, 2022 as Hispanic Heritage Month.

Business Spotlight: Midland Glass Co.

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Village is proud to recognize several Latino/a/x-owned businesses.

Midland Glass opened its doors in 1982 and has been at 1135 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville ever since. They just celebrated 40 years serving all of Lake and northern Cook County. Whether its windows, screen repairs, shower doors, or mirrors, Midland Glass Co. is ready to take care of you and all of your glass needs! Fire Department Open House

The Libertyville Fire Department Open House is back! From 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, October 15th, tour Fire Station 1, 1551 N. Milwaukee Ave., with your friendly Libertyville firefighters. Watch live demonstrations, slide down a fire pole, play giant Jenga, and visit the department's recruitment table!

Celebrate the reopening of Greentree Park with Village officials! A ribbon cutting will be held at 4:15 pm on Friday, October 21st. All are welcome!

For its second year, the Libertyville Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project! Patrol Officers and Community Service Officers are invited to wear a commemorative pink patch during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Residents and supporters may also buy their own pink patch for a minimum $10 donation. For details, click here.

Recreation Survey Closes on Monday, October 17th

Residents are invited to share their input with Libertyville Recreation about which programs and events they'd like to see! The department appreciates any and all community feedback as it plans its next year of programming.

GLMV's 3rd Annual Coat Drive for Vets

Clean out your closet and donate to veterans! The GLMV Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 3rd Annual Coat Drive for Vets - and pets! New and gently-used coats and outerwear may be dropped in the collection bin at the front of Village Hall, 118 W. Cook Ave., now through October 16th.

Senior Center Historic Pullman Trip

Join the Senior Center on a trip to the historic Pullman District on Thursday, October 20th! This active, vibrant Chicago neighborhood embodies the continuing American story of the city. The Historic Pullman Foundation will lead participants on a walking tour of the neighborhood.

Bus leaves at 9:30 a.m. $50 ticket includes transportation, walking tour, museum, and lunch. To register, contact Jennifer West at civiccenterlib@sbcglobal.net or 847-247-7659. Please note that payment must be made prior to registration confirmation.

Lake County Rental Assistance Program Now Open

Lake County renters who faced financial hardship during COVID-19 may now apply for the Lake County Rental Assistance (LCRA) Program. Applications are open through November 15th.
