Village Credit Rating Upgraded

On December 20, 2022, Moody’s Investor Services (Moody’s) announced that effective immediately, the Village’s credit rating would be upgraded from Aa2 to Aa1. Moody’s attributed the ratings increase to the financial and operational accomplishments made by the Village Board and staff over the last several years. In its credit opinion, Moody’s writes, “The village's financial profile has steadily improved including recent bolstering of fund balance and reduction in its exposure to competitive enterprise activity.” Beyond the prestigious nature of the ratings increase, the Aa1 rating will allow the Village to borrow money at a much lower cost, which will ultimately result in greater value for residents and businesses.

The #LibertyvilleGrinch Has Been Captured

After a lengthy trip through the Village, Libertyville Whos have once again foiled the Grinch's plans to steal Christmas! Local detectives followed the mischief through Greentree Park, Paul Neal Park, and Butler Lake Park before the Libertyville Police Department was able to apprehend the suspect.

Footage of the interception is available here. We are so grateful to those who helped us to save the holiday season for the second time!
