Extreme Heat Guidelines

An excessive heat advisory is in effect through Saturday evening for the Libertyville area. High temperatures are expected to be in the 90’s each day with Saturday in the upper 90’s. Maximum heat indices could peak between 100 and 108 each day. Be prepared for the extreme heat!

Find air conditioning, if possible
Avoid strenuous activities
Watch for heat illness
Wear light clothing
Check on family members and neighbors
Drink plenty of fluids
Watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke
Never leave people or pets in a closed car

Village Board to Consider Zoning of Recreational Cannabis Businesses

At the July 23, 2019 Village Board meeting a Resolution will be considered to refer the matter of whether or not the Village should allow the sale and/or crop production of recreational cannabis to the Plan Commission. The Plan Commission plans to hold a public hearing on August 26, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Libertyville Civic Center to receive public comment and then make a recommendation to the Village Board.

39th Annual Festival of the Arts - August 3 & 4

The David Adler Music and Arts Center and GLMV Chamber present the 39^th Annual Festival of the Arts in Cook Park, Libertyville the weekend of August 3 and 4.

Cook Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - August 6

Mark your calendars for August 6 at 5:30 p.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Cook Park playground. This event is free and open to the public.

Lake County CLC Community 50 Fest - July 25

The CLC Community 50 fest will take place on Thursday, July 25 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the College of Lake County Grayslake Campus-Tech Lawn. The community is invited to celebrate CLC's 50 years with live music, inflatable structures for kids of all ages, games and food trucks. There will also be a car show organized by CLC automotive faculty and a fireworks show at dusk. Admission is FREE, and the event will happen rain or shine!
