Village to Consider Zoning of Recreational Cannabis Businesses 

On August 26, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. the Plan Commission will hold a hearing to receive public comment on whether or not the Village should allow the sale and/or crop production of recreational cannabis. The meeting will be held at the Libertyville Civic Center located at 135 W. Church Street. Please consider attending this important meeting. 

Electronics Recycling Event August 17

Electronics Recycling occurs on Saturdays through September 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (will be closed on August 31st.) at the Public Works Facility located at 600 North Avenue. Residents must unload their own item(s) to the collection area. Please bring an ID for proof of residency. For a list of accepted items click here. Items not on the list will not be accepted.

North Shore Wine and Beer Festival August 24

The North Shore Wine and Beer Festival presented by the Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club will be held on August 24 on Church Street in downtown Libertyville. The Festival will offer tastings of over 100 wines from up to 15 different vendors, 80 beers from local craft breweries and distributors and a variety of cigar offerings. To learn more click here.

Fall registration for recreation programs is available NOW. Check out the 2019 Fall Registration guide which includes a listing of all of the programs, offerings, classes and events of the Libertyville Recreation-Sports Complex Department. For more information click here.

Adult Sports leagues for Men and Women are offered through our Recreation-Sports Complex Department. Softball (12” & 14” Co-ed), Basketball (Men & Women), and Indoor Soccer (Men & Women) leagues are offered.  Click here for more information. 

Adler Swimming Pool End of Season Schedule

Adler Pool is open Saturdays and Sundays through Labor Day, Monday, September 2.  Pool hours are 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (11:30 a.m. early admission for season pass holders).

2020 US Census 

Every ten years, the United States Census Bureau counts every resident in the United States, as mandated by the Constitution. The next census will take place in the spring of 2020. In preparation for the upcoming census, field data collection began in early August and will continue through October 11, 2019. Here are important reminders regarding census field workers:

• Census workers will have identification
  • A badge
  • A handheld device
  • A census bureau canvas bag
  • A confidentiality notice
• They will only ask certain questions
  • They are knocking on doors to verify address information, do not give out your social security number or credit card information
• They will NOT use email
